Senior student advisor

Job Description

. Lead and manage a team of student advisors for the academic program.
2. Approve or reject trainee documents such as sick leave, government documents and other paperwork to be considered as excused absence.
3. Conduct spot checks to ensure compliance with uniform regulations and follow up with uniform infractions with student advisors.
4. Represent trainees in committee hearings and present cases to the Academic Training Manager and Center Director as required.
5. Complete SPSP clearance procedure with departing trainees.
6. Inform parents or guardians by telephone about final warnings and drop notices.
7. Coordinate family member meetings with Center Director.
8. Lead the student advisor team in the resolution of complaints and grievances raised by students or instructors.
9. Support the administrative assistants and student advisors in the maintenance of accurate student records and files.
10. Support senior instructors, instructors and department managers with the necessary follow-up paperwork i.e. warnings and counselling of trainees.
11. Support students with exceptional medical or personal issues outside the normal daily occurrences.
12. Issue campus release authorization letters to leave the site during work hours.
13. Support SPSP business development team and company representatives in all matters related to sponsoring companies i.e. salary, contracts, medical, uniform.
14. Support SPSP operations team in all matters related to housing and transportation at SPSP.
15.Arrange assistance and support to staff during SPSP Special Events including
Graduation Ceremonies, VIP visits, student meetings and other 'mass' events.
16. Participate in and facilitate the orientation and induction of new and joining students to SPSP.
17. Participate in and facilitate student extra-curricular activities such as sports, external trips, and student visits.
18. Review and recommend action in the case of incident reports involving trainees that violate SPSP rules and regulations.
19. Ensure regular provision of monitoring of student areas such as the cafeteria, smoking and non-smoking areas, car park and building entrances.

• Demonstrate sensitivity and courtesy with trainees and family members.
• Exhibits effective written and email communication
• Understands SPSP program admission requirements and processes as well as academic and student affairs policies and procedures.

• 3 years' experience working in an educational or training environment in a student affair or learning support capacity.
• Experience of the delivery and assessment of vocational training, preferably in the petroleum sector is desirable
• Knowledge and experience of Arab learners
• Excellent IT skills, and ability to work to deadlines
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentational skills
• Arabic mother tongue and a strong command of English
